This policy explains what Vipani Commerce Pvt Ltd collects when you shop or sell here, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
We collect only what an order actually needs.
- Account details: name, email address and mobile number.
- Delivery details: the addresses you save, and the pincode you use to check delivery dates.
- Order history: what you bought, from which seller, and the amount paid.
- Device data: browser type, approximate location from your IP, and pages visited, used to keep the site fast and to detect fraud.
What we never collect
- Card numbers, CVVs and UPI PINs. These go directly to the payment gateway and never touch our servers.
- Your contacts, photos or files.
- Precise GPS location.
Why we use it
- To deliver orders and let sellers dispatch them.
- To calculate delivery dates for your pincode.
- To process refunds and returns.
- To send order updates. Marketing messages are optional and switched off from Settings.
- To detect fraudulent orders and protect sellers from abuse.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for eight years, as required by Indian tax law. Support conversations are kept for two years. Everything else is deleted within 90 days of you closing your account.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of your data from Settings → Data and privacy.
- Correct anything wrong from your profile page.
- Ask us to delete your account and the data that is not legally required.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

Write to [email protected] with your order id. Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules we acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month.
This document is written for a demonstration build of the Vipani storefront. Before going live, have it reviewed by a lawyer against the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 and the DPDP Act 2023.
